How to Void a Procedure Code/COS (Category of Service) Rate Span

You can void an existing procedure code/COS rate span for a line of business. In order to void the rate span, the beginning date must be in the past. If the beginning date is in the future, then it can be deleted.

Optionally, you can:

• Delete the entire rate and all its spans.
• Delete a detail span from a rate.
• View or add notes for a rate span. To view or add notes after adding or editing a rate span, on the action bar, click Notes.
• View audit details. To retrieve audit information, close any open panels and, on the action bar, click Audit Log. To view the details for a particular record, click Audit.

• Reset your entries. To clear the fields and remain on the page or panel, click Reset.

• Cancel your entries. To close the page or panel without saving your changes, click Cancel.

To void a procedure code/COS rate span

1. On the Rules Mgmt menu, point to Rates, and then click COS.

2. Search for the procedure code/COS rate with the span that you want to void.

3. On the Procedure Code/COS page, in the table, click the appropriate row.
4. In the Void field, click Yes.
5. To store the information in the table, on the Procedure Code/COS Details action bar, click Save.
6. On the Procedure Code/COS action bar, click Save.
