When a user has entered a wrong password multiple times, the account is locked. The number of incorrect entries is based upon the system's configuration. The user then must make a request to have the user ID unlocked. The user may also need to reset the user's password.
If the user is a State employee internal user, you can unlock the account only if it is the ND MMIS account that is locked. If the Active Directory account is locked, it must be unlocked using Active Directory.
Optionally, you can:
To unlock a user
On the My Account menu, click Manage Users.
On the View/Edit User view of the Manage Users page, click Unlock.
On the Unlock User page, enter a reason for unlocking the user's account.
Tip: If the user says that he or she was not the one who entered the wrong password multiple times to lock the account, this may indicate that an unauthorized person has been trying to access the application and the appropriate personnel should be notified.
On the Unlock User action bar, click Save.
The system will automatically log an entry in the security event log and change the user's status from locked to unlocked. It then sends an e-mail to the user that the account is unlocked.
