Most ND MMIS users are grouped into one of five organizations, consisting of:
State organizations manage the entire ND MMIS. Medical Services users work with provider enrollments, claim processing, security, operations, financial, and upgrades/changes (all with State coordination).
Provider organizations consist of individual or group providers that access North Dakota MMIS Web Portal to check member eligibility, submit, view, or update service authorizations, maintain claim templates, or file claims.
Trading Partner organizations consist of billing agents or business entities that transmit and receive electronic transactions on the behalf of the providers.
Although members are not organizational based, members are allowed to monitor their own information and reset their PINs once they log on to the North Dakota MMIS Web Portal.
Organization names are not unique within ND MMIS, but their Organization Identifiers are globally unique and case sensitive.
Each organization has an Organization Administrator who manages user accounts within their organization. An Enterprise Administrator is given the ability to manage any organization-based users in any organization.
For example, as a user with an active user ID and password, you change your password, but you cannot reset your password. Only the Organization Administrator for your organization or the Enterprise Administrator resets passwords.
Note: All users are in an organization except for members and public users.
