How to View or Edit TPL Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) History

MBI History spans are added and updated by the incoming MMA file process. If you have the appropriate security, you can view or edit MBI History spans for a member.

Note: Edit of MBI History spans is restricted to modifying the Void Indicator from N (non-void) to Y to (void). You will rarely void an MBI History Span manually. MBI History spans cannot be added or deleted by a user.

Optionally, you can:

 

To View MBI History Spans:

  1. On the Financial menu, point to Third Party Liability, and then select TPL Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) History
  2. Search for the member
  3. In the Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) History page results table, view the fields
  4. To view a span in the Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) History results table, click the appropriate row
  5. In the Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) History panel

    1. Optionally, select Audit to view Audit Details

 

To Edit MBI History Spans:

  1. On the Financial menu, point to Third Party Liability, and then select TPL Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) History
  2. Search for the member
  3. In the Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) History page results table, view the fields
  4. To edit a span in the Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) History results table, click the appropriate row
  5. In the Edit Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) History panel

    1. Optionally, select Audit to view Audit Details

    2. Optionally, select Void Indicator Y radio button to manually void an existing non-void MBI History span.

    3. Note: User edit of MBI History spans is restricted to modifying the Void Indicator from N (non-void) to Y (void). You will rarely void an MBI History Span manually.

    4. Optionally, if you have modified the Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) History:

      • i. on the Edit Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) History action bar, click Save

      • ii. on the Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) History action bar above, click Save

    5. Optionally, select Notes to view or add notes

    6. Optionally, if you have added notes:

      • i. on the Notes action bar, click Save

      • ii. on the Edit Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) History action bar, click Save

      • iii. on the Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) History action bar above, click Save
