How to Search for a Member

You can search for a memberon the Member Search page using:

Note: The sequence of the above three tabs varies according to the role of the user who is logged on.

You can narrow your search even more on some of the tabs by entering additional criteria.

Which tab should I use?

Use the Name tab when you know a partial or complete spelling of the member's name. The member's Last Name is the only required field for this tab, but the more information you supply, the quicker ND MMIS will find the member. You can use the Starts With (partial name) or Phonetic (sounds like) option with the First and Last Names search. The Date of Birth, Gender, Town Code, District Office or Zip Code may be used to limit the members that are displayed in the Search Results.

Use the SSN tab when you know the Social Security number (SSN) of the member. The Social Security number is the only required field for this tab.

Use the Other tab when you have a valid Alternate ID and Alternate ID Type. Both fields are required on this tab. Examples of other Alternate IDs are Passport ID, Healthy Steps, Medical Record Identification Number, SPED (Service Payments for the Elderly and Disabled).

Note: On all the search tabs, the From Date, To Date, and LOB may be used to filter the member information after a specific member has been selected from the Search Results, or when an exact match was found by ND MMIS.

To search for a member

  1. On the Member menu, click Member Summary Inquiry.
  2. On the Member Search page, click the appropriate tab, depending on the information you have available for your search:
  3. On the selected tab, complete the required field(s), including any additional options to narrow your search.
  4. Click Search.

If more than one match is found, a results table with matches is displayed. Click the up or down arrow next to a column heading to sort the table in ascending or descending sequence according to that column. Click a row to display that match.

If one match is found, it is displayed instead of the results table.

If no matches are found, a message is displayed with the option to click Reset to clear all fields and enter new search information. If too many matches are found, click Reset and search using additional options.
