How to Request Eligibility Verifications (270 Transactions)

You can use the TPL Policy page to manually generate eligibility verification requests for individuals covered by the policy. Use the Generate 270 link on:

• The Policy tab to generate requests for all individuals covered by the policy.
• The Policyholder & Covered Individuals tab to generate requests for specific individuals or for all individuals covered by the policy.

270 request transactions are automatically generated if:

• coverage is active
• there is a trading partner for the carrier on the policy
• it has been the required amount of time (as set by a system parameter) since the last re-verification.

However, you can manually request eligibility verifications at any time.

If there is no trading partner for the carrier, the information is listed on a report to be manually verified.

Optionally, you can:

• View or add notes. To view or add notes for this record, on the action bar, click Notes.
• View audit details. To retrieve audit information, close any open panels and, on the action bar, click Audit Log. To view the details for a particular record, click Audit.
• Reset your entries. To clear the fields and remain on the page or panel, click Reset.
• Cancel your entries. To close the page or panel without saving your changes, click Cancel.

To manually request eligibility verifications for covered individuals

1. On the Financial menu, point to Third Party Liability, and then click Policy.
2. Search for the policy that contains the individuals whose eligibility you need to verify.
3. To send requests to the carrier, on the TPL Policy page, click the appropriate tab:
   • Policy - all the policy's covered individuals
   • Policyholder & Covered Individuals - specific individuals or all the individuals
4. Do one of the following:
   • To send requests to the carrier for all the policy's covered individuals, on the TPL Policy action bar, click Generate 270.
   • To send a request for a specific individual,
     1. On the Policyholder & Covered Individuals tab, in the Covered Individuals Summary table, click the appropriate row.
     2. On the Covered Individuals panel action bar, click Generate 270.
