How to Void a Detail Span on a Modifier

You can void an effective-dated detail span for a modifier if it has a beginning date in the past. Once a span has been voided, it is not used during claims processing. If the beginning date is in the future, you can delete a detail span.

Optionally, you can:

To void a detail span on a modifier

  1. On the Rules Mgmt menu, point to Code Maintenance, and then click Modifier.
  2. Search for the modifier with the detail span that you want to delete.
  3. On the Modifier page, in the Modifier Details table, click the row containing the detail span to be voided.
  4. In the Modifier Details panel, in the Void field, click Yes.
  5. To store the information in the table, on the Modifier Details action bar, click Save.
  6. On the Modifier action bar, click Save.
