How to Delete a Detail Span from a Modifier

You can delete an effective-dated detail span from a modifier that has a beginning date in the future from a surgical procedure code. If the beginning date is in the past, you can void the detail span.

Optionally, you can:

• View or add notes. To view or add notes for this record, on the action bar, click Notes.
• View audit details. To retrieve audit information, close any open panels and, on the action bar, click Audit Log. To view the details for a particular record, click Audit.
• Reset your entries. To clear the fields and remain on the page or panel, click Reset.

• Cancel your entries. To close the page or panel without saving your changes, click Cancel.

To delete a detail span from a modifier

1. On the Rules Mgmt menu, point to Code Maintenance, and then click Modifier.
2. Search for the modifier with the detail span that you want to delete.

3. On the Modifier page, in the Modifier Details table, click the row containing the detail span to be deleted.

   Make sure you are deleting the correct information because once the information has been saved, it cannot be changed.

4. To remove the information from the table, on the panel action bar, click Delete.
5. On the Modifier action bar, click Save.
