How to Change Your Password

You change your password when your password expires, when you used a one-time password, when you received a message to change your password, or when you choose to change your password.

Before changing your password, choose one that follows these rules:

• Must be a 8 to 14 characters long
• Must contain at least one character from three of four categories:
• Uppercase letters
• Lowercase letters
• Numbers
• Special characters, such as: !, $, #, %, @, or &
• Cannot contain any part of the user's full name, such as first or last name
• Cannot contain any 4 characters that match the user ID
• Must different from the last 24 passwords used

Note: State and Medical Servicespersonnel cannot change their passwords using North Dakota MMIS Web Portal. Passwords are maintained in Active Directory, and these users are directed to the appropriate page. This topic is presented as a reference for the procedures used by other users, such as providers.

Optionally, you can:

• Cancel your entries. To close the page or panel without saving your changes, click Cancel.

To change your password when prompted

1. On the Change Password page, complete the fields.

2. Click Change.

   Note: After changing your password, if you changed an expired or one-time password, ND MMIS redirects you to the login page. Otherwise, you are directed to the internal Home page.

To change your password after logging on

1. On the My Account menu, click Change Password.
2. On the Change Password page, complete the fields.

3. Click Change.
