How to Void a DRG Code Detail Span

You can void an existing DRG code detail span if the beginning date of the span is in the past. If the beginning date of the span is in the future, it can be deleted. Once a detail span has been voided, it is not used during the processing of a claim.

Optionally, you can:

• Delete a DRG code and all its detail spans.
• Delete a detail span from a DRG code.
• View or add notes. To view or add notes for this record, on the action bar, click Notes.
• View audit details. To retrieve audit information, close any open panels and, on the action bar, click Audit Log. To view the details for a particular record, click Audit.

• Reset your entries. To clear the fields and remain on the page or panel, click Reset.

• Cancel your entries. To close the page or panel without saving your changes, click Cancel.

To void a DRG code detail span

1. On the Rules Mgmt menu, point to Code Maintenance, and then click DRG.
2. Search for the DRG Code with the span that you want to void.
3. On the DRG Code page, in the DRG Code Details table, click the appropriate row.
4. In the DRG Code Details panel, in the Void field, click Yes.
5. To store the information in the table, on the DRG Code Details action bar, click Save.
6. On the DRG Code action bar, click Save.
