How to Void an APC Code Detail Span

You can void an existing APC (ambulatory payment classification) code detail span if the beginning date of the span is in the past. If the beginning date of the span is in the future, it can be deleted. Once a detail span has been voided, it is not used during the processing of a claim.

Optionally, you can:

• Delete an APC code and all its detail spans.
• Delete a detail span from an APC code.
• View or add notes. To view or add notes for this record, on the action bar, click Notes.
• View audit details. To retrieve audit information, close any open panels and, on the action bar, click Audit Log. To view the details for a particular record, click Audit.

• Reset your entries. To clear the fields and remain on the page or panel, click Reset.

• Cancel your entries. To close the page or panel without saving your changes, click Cancel.

To void an APC code detail span

1. On the Rules Mgmt menu, point to Code Maintenance, and then click APC.
2. Search for the APC code that you want to void.
3. On the APC Code page, in the APC Code Details table, click the appropriate row.
4. In the APC Code Details panel, in the Void field, click Yes.
5. To store the information in the table, on the APC Code Details action bar, click Save.
6. On the APC Code action bar, click Save.
