How to Replicate a Map Definition
You use the Replicate function on the Map Definition action bar to copy the map definition information within the same line of business. You cannot replicate map definitions that are system-wide. All the existing information is used to create a new map definition that can be edited for the differences. You use this function to add a new definition that is similar to an existing map definition in that line of business.
You can also replicate within the same map definition the data details that are the AND criteria that must be matched for the effective-dated condition to be true. The copied details are then available to edit.
Optionally, you can:
To replicate a map definition
- On the Rules Mgmt menu, click Map Definition.
- Search for the map that you want to copy.

On the Map Definition action bar, click Replicate.
The copied map definition is available to edit.
- In the header panel, edit all applicable information.
- On the Map Definition page, do one of the following:
To add an effective-dated map OR condition, click Add Map Definition Details.
Note: You must add at least one effective-dated map definition section to a map.
- To edit, in the Map Definition table, click the appropriate Begin Date.
- In the Map Definition panel, complete the fields.
To add or edit the data elements that are the AND criteria that must be matched for the effective-dated condition to be true, complete the Definition Data fields.
- Do one of the following:
To add a new data element, in the Map Definition panel, click Add Definition Data Details.
Note: You must enter at least one data element for each effective-date condition.
- To edit, in the Definition Data table, click the appropriate data element criteria.

In the Definition Data panel, complete the fields.
When editing, to open the System List page for the system list in the Functional Area field, on the Definition Data action bar, click View/Edit List.

Review the data element information to make sure it is accurate.
- To store the data element in the table, on the Definition Data action bar, click Save.

To store the effective-dated condition in the table, on the Map Definition action bar, click Save.
Repeat steps 5-8 to add or edit an additional effective-dated condition.
- On the Map Definition action bar, click Save.
To replicate map definition details
- On the Rules Mgmt menu, click Map Definition.
- Search for the map that you want to edit.
- On the Map Definition page, in the Map Definition table, click the appropriate Begin Date of the effective-dated map OR condition for which you want to replicate data definition details.
- In the Definition Data table, click the data element criteria that you want to replicate.

On the Definition Data action bar, click Replicate.
The copied data element details are available to edit.

In the Definition Data panel, edit the copied data element details that are the AND criteria that must be matched for the effective-dated condition to be true.

Complete the fields
When editing, to open the System List page for the system list in the Functional Area field, on the Definition Data action bar, click View/Edit List.
- Review the data element information to make sure it is accurate.
- To store the data element in the table, on the Definition Data action bar, click Save.
- To store the effective-dated condition in the table, on the Map Definition action bar, click Save.
- On the Map Definition action bar, click Save.
