Trading partners are business entities that submit or receive information to and from ND MMIS. A trading partner can be a provider, billing agent, third party liability carrier, clearinghouse, or other business entity that submits and/or receives electronic files.
If the trading partner is a provider, the provider will need to complete the regular provider enrollment application process, indicating that the provider is acting as its own billing agent. ND MMIS will copy the information necessary into a Trading Partner application.
All other non-provider trading partners must submit a Trading Partner application using the Web portal.
Requests to verify a provider's information and updating license certification will be done annually using scheduled letter notices. Similar letters are sent to trading partners to inform them of enrollment application decisions (approval, denial, cancellation).
The Trading Partner Application Maintenance pages allow you to inquire about or make changes and approve a trading partner's enrollment application.
The Trading Partner Inquiry Search page allows you to search for a trading partner by using various search criteria on the ID or Name search tabs. Once the search results are displayed, you can view identifying information about the trading partner such as classification, demographics, address, and location.
The Trading Partner Maintenance pages allow you to edit information about an enrolled trading partner.
