How to Identify Suspect Duplicates

On occasion, you may need to identify and maintain suspect duplicate members in ND MMIS. ND MMIS identifies suspect duplicates using the following information:

For example, Charles Smith with a DOB of 12/24/1941 and Charlie Smith with the same DOB would be identified as suspect duplicates.

Before maintaining any suspect duplicate members, you are required to manually research the members to ensure that the members in question are suspect duplicates. In addition, the corresponding source and target member records should have already been successfully merged on all external eligibility systems that share member data with ND MMIS. <<Is this a true statement??>>

To identify a suspect duplicate

  1. View the Suspect Duplicate report.
  2. Work with VISION and the Technical Eligibility Computer System (TECS) systems to review the report and determine if the members in question are indeed suspect duplicates.
