Search Batch Control Page

You use this page when you search for a batch control record. The Batch Date is required. To narrow your search, you can enter a batch media source. To locate a specific batch control record, you can enter the exact batch number.

The Search Batch Control page contains the following panels:

 

Search Filter Fields

Field Name Description
To add a batch control record, click Add Batch Control.
Batch Date

The batch creation date consists of the last two digits of the year and the day of the year.

Format: YYDDD

Example: February 1, 2011 is 11032.

Media Source

Indicates how the batch was received.

Examples: WEB, Encounter, OCR, Paper

Batch Number

The number assigned to the batch. The number uniquely identifies each batch of claim documents compiled on a given day.

Format: NNNN

Example: 9123

 

Search Results Fields

Field Name Description
If more than one match is found, this table is displayed. To view a match, click the appropriate row. None of these fields can be edited.
Control Key

A concatenation of the Batch Date, number representation of the Media Source, and the Batch Number.

Example: 0723480001

Date Entered The date the record was first entered. It is set automatically to the date the batch record was created.
Total Documents

Indicates the total number of documents (claim records) in the batch. The Total Documents number cannot be greater than the difference between the End Document number and the Begin Document number.

Format: Up to 999999

Example: 50

Document Type Identifies the type of the document (claim record) being processed in this batch.

Example: Adjustment

Batch Type

Identifies, at a high level, the type of claims processed in the batch.

Examples: CMS-1500, Institution Crossover, Void

Batch Status The current status of the batch. A batch record status can be one of the following:

Active - The batch record has been created.
Accepted - All claims for this batch have been entered.
Deleted - The batch is deleted and is not being used.

Inactive - The batch record is not active and claims cannot be entered for this batch.

Default: Set to Active when the batch control record is created.
