LOB/Benefit Plan Hierarchy Page

The Benefits LOB/Benefit Plan Hierarchy page is used to define the ranking of MMIS benefit plans. The rankings are across all lines of business and all MMIS benefit plans. It contains the following panels:

 

LOB/Benefit Plan Hierarchy Fields

Field Description
To add a new hierarchy, click Add LOB/Benefit Plan Hierarchy. To edit a hierarchy, in the LOB/Benefit Plan Hierarchy table, click the appropriate row.
Show Voids

Indicator to display voided (inactive) records. Select to display both active and inactive records. Leave blank to display only active records.

Void

Indicates whether or not the record has been voided. Depending on which page you are viewing, a check mark or a void date indicates the record is void.

When editing, indicates whether the record is active (No) or inactive (Yes). If inactive, the record is void, and it is ignored when processing.

Only records with beginning dates in the past can be voided. Records with beginning dates in the future can be deleted.

Begin Date

The date the hierarchy of benefit plans becomes effective. Must be earlier than or the same as the hierarchy's ending date. It can be edited as long as it is greater than the current system date.

Format: MM/DD/YYYY

End Date

The date after which the hierarchy of benefit plans is no longer effective. Must be later than or the same as the hierarchy's beginning date. It can be edited as long as it is greater than the current system date.

Format: MM/DD/YYYY

Default: 12/31/9999

 

Rankings Fields

Field Description

These fields are displayed when adding a new hierarchy of plans or when you select an existing hierarchy in the LOB/Benefit Plan Hierarchy table. To add a benefit plan to the sequence, click Add Ranking. To edit an existing benefit plan ranking, in the Rankings table, click the appropriate row.

LOB

The unique code and descriptive name that identifies the line of business.

Benefit Plan ID

Unique identifier for the benefit plan.

When adding, only benefit plans associated with the indicated LOB are displayed to be selected.

Rank

The order in which the row in the table is evaluated by ND MMIS. The lower the number, the earlier in the sequence the row is evaluated. There cannot be duplicate ranked rows within the table.

Examples: 10, 20, 30

Default: 999 (used if only one row)
