How to Use Quick Search to Find Codes and IDs

You can use Quick Search on some pages to find or confirm the ID or code with which you can complete a field. Quick Search allows you to search for the information without leaving the page you are on and returns your selection back to the field to complete it. For example, you may need to find a provider's ID or the code for a claim exception.

To search for codes and IDs with Quick Search

  1. To locate information needed for a field, do one of the following:

The Quick Search panel is displayed below the current panel.

  2. In the Quick Search panel, complete the fields.

Note: The fields that are displayed in the panel depend on the information for which you are searching. If you entered a code or ID in the original field, it is used to complete the appropriate search field.

  3. Click Search.

In the Quick Search panel, a table with matches is displayed. If multiple matches are displayed, click the up or down arrow next to a column heading to sort the table in ascending or descending sequence according to that column.

If no matches are found, a message is displayed with the option to click Reset to clear all fields and enter new search information. If too many matches are found, click Reset and search using additional options.

  4. Do one of the following:
