Revenue Code (Pricing Tab) Page

You can add or edit pricing information for a revenue code using the Pricing tab of the Revenue Code page. You can also replicate a pricing span within the same revenue code.

The Pricing tab of the Revenue Code page contains the following panels:

 

Header Fields

Field Description
Revenue Code

Identifies the specific accommodation and/or ancillary charges on the claim.

Format: 4 numeric characters

Examples: 0655,0304, 0121

Revenue Type

The type of revenue code.

Examples: Inpatient, Outpatient, Long Term Care

Short Description

The short description for the revenue code.

Format: Up to 40 characters

Example: Room-Board/Semi

Long Description

The long description of the revenue code.

Example: Room & Board - Semi-private two beds (Medical or General) Routine service charges incurred for accommodations with two beds.

Characters Remaining

Counter that indicates how many characters you have available when entering text. It decreases by one for each character entered and increases when a character is deleted.

Default: 320

Begin Date

The date that the revenue code becomes effective. A claim exception is created when the date of service is prior to the effective date of the revenue code.

Format: MM/DD/YYYY

End Date

The date that the revenue code was terminated. A claim exception is created when the date of service falls after the termination date of the revenue code.

Format: MM/DD/YYYY

Default: 12/31/9999

 

Pricing Fields

Field Description
To add a pricing span to the procedure code, click Add Pricing. To edit, in the table, click the appropriate row.
Show Voids

Indicator to display voided (inactive) records. Select to display both active and inactive records. Leave blank to display only active records.

This field is only displayed when editing.

Void

In the table, if the field is checked, the code span has been voided and cannot be changed. Hover over the field to display the date it was voided.

When editing, indicates whether the code span is active (No) or inactive (Yes). If inactive, the code span is ignored when processing.

Only code spans with beginning dates in the past can be voided. Code spans with beginning dates in the future can be deleted.

Begin Date

The date that this pricing span became effective.

Note: The date range (begin and end date) must fall within date range of the code.

Format: MM/DDYYYY

End Date

The date that this pricing span was terminated.

Note: The date range (begin and end date) must fall within date range of the code.

Format: MM/DD/YYYY

Default: 12/31/9999

Line of Business

The line of business associated with this revenue code.

Example: Medicaid

Factor Code

The type of pricing information for this revenue code.

Max Allow

The maximum amount of money allowed against this revenue code.

Example: $200.00

Rate Source

Indicates what rate source is being used for this revenue code.

Reason

The reason code to be applied to this revenue code on a claim.

Max Units

The maximum units that can be applied to this revenue code on a claim.

Format: 9 alphanumeric characters
