How to Delete a Procedure Code

You can delete a procedure code and all its related spans.

The need to delete a procedure code is extremely rare. You should use caution when deleting the procedure code.

Instead of deleting an entire procedure code, if its beginning date is in the future, you can delete the following individual spans from a code:

• ASC Group
• CLIA
• Endoscopy Codes
  • Family Codes
• Medicare Coverage
• Former Codes
• Codes & Indicators
• Lab Classification
  • Lab Code from a Lab Classification span
• Pricing
• Professional Component
• Technical Component
• NDC date spans
  • NDC and conversion factor from an NDC date span

To delete a procedure code

1. On the Rules Mgmt menu, point to Code Maintenance, and then click Procedure.

2. Search for the procedure code that you want to delete.
3. On the Procedure Code action bar, click Delete Procedure Code.
